MANILA — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has temporarily taken its electronic support system (LESS) offline following the discovery of a data breach affecting the platform's data environment, the agency announced Saturday.
The LTFRB statement did not immediately specify which data categories may have been compromised or the extent of the breach. The agency said it is conducting an investigation to determine what information was accessed and affected by the unauthorized intrusion.
LESS serves as the LTFRB's primary digital platform for processing transportation-related transactions and regulatory matters. The temporary suspension is expected to impact operations dependent on the system while authorities assess the situation and implement corrective measures.
The LTFRB has not provided a timeline for when services will be fully restored. The agency is expected to issue additional updates as its investigation progresses.
