LTO deploys 100+ personnel to manage Undas traffic surge

MANILA — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will station more than 100 personnel across key expressway routes to manage traffic and ensure public safety during the Undas period, as Philippine families travel to cemeteries and columbaria to visit their deceased loved ones.

The deployment is conducted under "Oplan Biyaheng Ayos–Undas 2026," a comprehensive road safety initiative designed to handle the surge in vehicular traffic typically experienced during the All Saints' and All Souls' Days holidays. The LTO expects significant congestion on major thoroughfares as millions of Filipinos traverse the country's road network.

Key expressways targeted for the deployment include the Manila-Cavite Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, and Skyway. Personnel will monitor traffic conditions, enforce traffic regulations, and assist motorists throughout the holiday period to prevent accidents and maintain orderly movement of vehicles.

The LTO emphasized that the operation aims to reduce road incidents and travel delays during one of the Philippines' busiest travel seasons. Authorities have urged motorists to practice safe driving habits, maintain vehicle safety standards, and plan their trips to avoid peak congestion periods.
