LTO extends vehicle registration, license renewal deadline to February 2027

MANILA — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced an extended renewal period for motor vehicle registrations, driver's licenses, and related permits that expired during the July to October 2026 window, pushing the new deadline to February 2027.

The measure, outlined in Memorandum Circular No. MVL-2026-5523 issued this week, allows affected motorists additional months to complete their renewal requirements without incurring penalties or violations.

The extension applies to all categories of vehicle registrations and driver's licenses that fell due during the four-month period, addressing concerns about processing delays and accessibility issues that have affected vehicle owners nationwide.

Motor vehicle owners and licensed drivers are advised to complete their renewals before the February 2027 deadline to ensure uninterrupted legal operation of their vehicles and continued validity of their driving privileges. The LTO has not announced whether further extensions may be granted beyond the new deadline.
