Ludo game turns fatal as driver stabs friend in Lucknow dispute

A minor quarrel between acquaintances playing ludo beneath the Purnea flyover in Lucknow spiraled into a deadly assault on Saturday evening. The disagreement occurred while the group was engaged in the board game and consuming alcohol in the area.

During the heated exchange, one of the men identified as Pradeep grabbed a pair of scissors from a nearby massage parlor and repeatedly stabbed his friend Rahul Awasthi. The attack left Awasthi critically injured.

Awasthi was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police have taken Pradeep into custody in connection with the fatal stabbing as investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident continues.

The incident underscores how seemingly trivial disagreements can escalate into violence when coupled with alcohol consumption, leaving investigators to determine the precise sequence of events that led to the fatal outcome.
