Lululemon clears excess inventory through discount section

Lululemon Athletica has expanded its clearance inventory with new additions of fleece-lined pants and crewneck sweatshirts now available in the company's dedicated discount section, known as 'We Made Too Much.'

The move reflects efforts by the premium activewear brand to manage inventory levels through its existing clearance channel. The 'We Made Too Much' section allows Lululemon to discount excess stock while maintaining brand positioning through a separate shopping experience distinct from regular pricing.

Fleece-lined bottoms and casual tops represent seasonal or trend-driven items that may have accumulated beyond sales expectations. By consolidating overstock through the dedicated clearance platform, Lululemon can clear warehouse space while offering customers opportunities to purchase products at reduced prices.

The retailer has previously used the clearance section to manage inventory fluctuations, particularly around seasonal transitions and new product launches. The expansion of available items in the discount offering suggests ongoing optimization of stock levels across Lululemon's product range.
