Luzon braces for heavy rainfall as two weather systems converge

MANILA — Two converging weather systems are set to drench parts of Luzon with heavy rainfall through Wednesday, September 9, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The extension of Tropical Cyclone Krovanh, combined with a second weather disturbance, will create conditions favorable for widespread precipitation across the island, Pagasa weather specialist Daniel Villamil said in an evening advisory. Residents in affected areas can expect overcast skies and persistent rain as the systems maintain their influence over the coming days.
The state weather bureau continues monitoring both systems closely and is expected to provide updated forecasts as conditions develop. Residents and local government units in Luzon are advised to remain prepared for potential flooding and landslides in areas prone to such hazards during periods of heavy rainfall.
