Madhya Pradesh CM orders ground-level review of Ken-Betwa project impact

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has instructed the administrations of Panna and Chhatarpur districts to undertake comprehensive field visits to households affected by the Ken-Betwa Link Project. The directive seeks to establish direct communication channels between government officials and impacted families to gather firsthand accounts of concerns and challenges.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of ground-level assessments in understanding the actual circumstances of residents in project-affected villages. Officials have been tasked with visiting every household in the designated areas to document the problems families face and to listen to their grievances without intermediaries.

The Ken-Betwa Link Project, a major water management initiative in central India, connects the Ken River to the Betwa River through a canal system. The scheme has significant implications for irrigation, water supply, and hydropower generation across multiple districts in Madhya Pradesh.
