Madhya Pradesh CM's mother Kashi Bai dies at AIIMS Bhopal

Kashi Bai, the mother of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, died at AIIMS Bhopal on Wednesday. She was admitted to the premier medical facility in the state capital.

Following her death, Chouhan returned to his residence in Saket Nagar in Bhopal to be with his family. The Chief Minister is expected to oversee arrangements for the final rites.

The last rites of Kashi Bai will be performed at Jait, the ancestral village of the Chouhan family, according to family sources. Jait is located in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh.

Condolences have begun pouring in from political colleagues and well-wishers across the state. The demise comes as Chouhan continues his tenure as the state's chief minister.
