The Madhya Pradesh Forest Department is preparing to roll out SHIVAA, a technological solution addressing the persistent challenge of human-snake encounters across the state. The digital platform will serve as a direct communication channel between citizens and trained professional snake rescuers, enabling rapid response to incidents in residential and public areas.

The initiative recognizes snakebite as a significant public health concern in central India. By creating a dedicated app-based system, authorities aim to ensure that victims receive prompt guidance toward appropriate medical treatment while simultaneously reducing unnecessary killings of snakes through fear-based reactions.

The platform is expected to streamline emergency protocols by connecting distressed residents with qualified handlers equipped to safely capture and relocate snakes, particularly during monsoon months when such encounters become more frequent. The Forest Department has designed SHIVAA to provide real-time location tracking and handler availability information.
