Madhya Pradesh transfers collectors, SP after toxic liquor deaths

Senior administrative and police officials in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar and Dewas districts have been transferred in the wake of investigations into poisoning cases linked to toxic liquor. The state government announced the postings as part of its response to the incidents that claimed multiple lives.

IAS officer Neha Meena has been appointed as the collector of Dewas district, replacing the previous incumbent. Dilip Kumar Yadav has been transferred to take charge as collector of Sagar district. The transfers mark significant changes in the administrative leadership of both districts.

In a parallel move, IPS officer Aditya Mishra has been posted as superintendent of police in Dewas district. The reshuffling reflects the state administration's effort to strengthen oversight and accountability in districts affected by the contaminated alcohol crisis.

The transfers come as authorities continue investigations into the poisoning incidents that exposed gaps in enforcement and regulation of illicit liquor production and distribution networks. Officials said the new postings would enable fresh administrative focus on public health and safety measures in the affected regions.
