Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Receives Honorary Doctorate from Adani University

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, received an honorary doctorate from Adani University during a formal ceremony held at the institution's campus. The event marked a significant milestone as the first major academic function following the university's transition from its former name, the Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER).

Dr Priti Adani, Chancellor of Adani University, presided over the ceremony in which the recognition was bestowed upon Fadnavis. The honour is typically awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to their fields and to society at large.

Adani University, located in Gujarat, has emerged as a prominent institution offering multidisciplinary education and research programmes. The renaming reflects the university's evolution and its expanded vision for academic excellence and innovation in higher education across South Asia.

Fadnavis, who assumed office as Maharashtra Chief Minister in 2023, has been recognised for his administrative initiatives and policy framework in the state. The conferment of the honorary doctorate adds to the institutional acknowledgements of his career in public service and governance.
