Maharashtra CM hears farmer pleas as drought ravages Marathwada region

Maharashtra's Marathwada region continues to grapple with severe drought conditions that have destroyed crops across multiple districts, triggering distress among farming communities. The agricultural crisis prompted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to undertake a field visit to assess ground-level conditions and meet directly with affected farmers.

During the visit to Latur district, Fadnavis engaged with farmers struggling to cope with crop failures and mounting losses. Visibly distressed cultivators described the scale of agricultural devastation wrought by the extended dry spell, with some expressing despair over the complete loss of their harvests.

The Marathwada region, encompassing districts across eastern Maharashtra, has faced recurring drought conditions in recent years, severely impacting agricultural output and farmer livelihoods.
