Chief Minister Fadnavis said on Monday that the Mumbai Police have developed significant leads on the identities of the assailants and expect to make arrests soon. He told reporters in Nagpur that authorities are coordinating with other states and central agencies to apprehend those involved in the incident.
"We will track down not just the accused but also their handlers who remain hidden elsewhere and issue instructions from a distance," Fadnavis said, emphasising that such acts of violence would not be permitted.
Unidentified gunmen fired at Shroff's vehicle in the Juhu locality on Sunday evening. The actor was unharmed, but his driver and another occupant sustained injuries in the attack.
A social media post attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the shooting. Police investigations are ongoing to verify the claims and establish the full details of those behind the attack.
The incident has sparked concern over security in the financial capital, with authorities pledging a comprehensive investigation to bring all perpetrators to justice.
