Maharashtra issues yellow alert across 29 districts as dry spell persists

Weather authorities in Maharashtra have placed 29 districts on yellow alert as the region continues to experience an extended dry spell. The alert comes as meteorological forecasts indicate the possibility of isolated heavy downpours and strong wind activity across multiple parts of the state.
Eight districts have been specifically identified as vulnerable to the predicted rainfall and wind conditions. These include Latur, Dharashiv, Yavatmal, Nanded, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Gadchiroli and Gondia, which span both the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of the state.
The yellow alert designation indicates that residents and authorities should remain prepared for adverse weather conditions, though the situation is not classified as severe. Agricultural operations, construction activities, and transport services in the affected areas are being monitored closely by district administrations.
The dry spell has raised concerns among farmers and water resource officials across Maharashtra. Meteorological officials advise residents to exercise caution during the predicted rainfall period and urged district authorities to maintain readiness for potential weather-related disruptions.
