Candidates appearing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations have concluded their 10-day protest after the state government agreed to probe alleged administrative lapses in the recruitment process. The agitation, which had gathered significant momentum among test-takers, was called off following official commitments to address their concerns. The government has established a dedicated committee to investigate reported irregularities in the examination process and allegations of question paper leaks. MPSC Chairman Vivek Bheemnavar has recused himself from duties and taken leave until the inquiry is completed, a decision intended to ensure impartial investigation of the charges. The move is aimed at restoring confidence among aspirants and addressing systemic concerns that triggered the widespread protest. Officials indicated that the committee would submit its findings within a specified timeframe, with corrective measures to follow based on investigation outcomes.
