Mahindra Holidays targets 10,000 keys by FY30 amid expansion push

Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited is accelerating its expansion strategy, committing substantial resources to grow its resort portfolio significantly over the coming years. The company intends to add approximately 1,000 keys—a measure of room inventory—within the next half-year, marking a notable step in its broader growth trajectory.

The expansion aligns with Mahindra Holidays' ambitious long-term vision to reach 10,000 keys by the financial year ending March 2030. To support this aggressive scaling, roughly 70 per cent of the company's capital expenditure has been earmarked for new resort development, reflecting management's commitment to portfolio diversification and geographic expansion.

The growth push comes amid challenging operational conditions. The hospitality sector continues grappling with elevated construction and operational costs, while several projects have experienced timeline extensions. Despite these headwinds, Mahindra Holidays remains focused on executing its development pipeline to capture growing demand in the vacation ownership and resort leisure segments across India.

The company's expansion strategy reflects broader confidence in domestic tourism recovery and increasing affluent consumer participation in organized vacation experiences. With infrastructure development ongoing and market conditions gradually stabilizing, industry observers note the company's expansion targets represent both opportunity and execution risk in the near to medium term.
