Mahindra sets October sales record on festive demand, export surge

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd posted its strongest monthly sales performance on record in October, capitalising on festive season demand and an expanded vehicle portfolio. Total vehicle sales, including exports, climbed to 131,109 units, representing 9 per cent growth compared to the same month last year, the automaker said.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales increased 2 per cent year-on-year to 73,338 units, while commercial vehicle dispatches rose 4 per cent to 33,037 units. The company's SUV segment, a core strength, recorded its highest monthly sales at 73,338 units. Export shipments delivered particularly strong growth, jumping 77 per cent to 7,102 units during the month.

Within the commercial vehicle portfolio, three-wheeler sales—encompassing both conventional and electric variants—surged 38 per cent to 17,632 units. Light commercial vehicles in the 2-3.5 tonne category grew 5 per cent to 28,654 units. The company attributed the robust performance to its refreshed model lineup across SUVs, pick-ups and three-wheelers, as well as growing customer interest in its first CNG offering, the XUV 3XO ZNG.

"October marks a milestone for us with both our SUV sales and total vehicle sales reaching all-time highs in a single month," said Velusamy R, President of Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive Business. The strong momentum reflects sustained consumer confidence and the appeal of the automaker's expanded product range across mass-market segments.
