Maintenance issues flagged on helicopter days before Malaysian crash
Malaysian aviation authorities have identified maintenance concerns involving the helicopter operator in the days preceding a recent aircraft accident. However, investigators have yet to determine the crash's root cause or whether identified issues contributed to the incident.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has raised questions about maintenance practices at the helicopter operator following the recent accident, according to preliminary findings. The authority flagged several maintenance-related issues that were noted in the days immediately before the crash occurred.
Investigators are continuing their examination of the aircraft and operational records as part of the formal accident investigation. The inquiry has so far focused on gathering evidence from multiple sources, including maintenance logs, pilot records, and aircraft condition reports.
While the maintenance concerns have drawn attention, officials emphasised that establishing a definitive cause remains premature. Investigators cautioned against drawing conclusions until a comprehensive technical and operational analysis is completed.
The CAAM said it would provide further updates as the investigation progresses. The authority typically takes several months to finalise accident investigation reports, particularly when multiple factors may be involved in an incident.
