Jammu Police have successfully bust a narco-terror module as part of Operation Sanjeevani, recovering substantial quantities of illicit drugs from the Arnia sector. Authorities seized 804 grams of heroin and 1.114 kilograms of opium during a raid in village Talhar, located in the volatile Sector Arnia region bordering Pakistan. The quantity recovered is classified as commercial-level contraband, indicating an organized trafficking operation rather than personal consumption. Officials have intensified efforts to interdict drug smuggling networks that operate across the porous border and funnel narcotics into Indian markets. The operation underscores the nexus between narcotics trafficking and terror financing in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Further investigations are underway to identify other members of the smuggling ring and trace the supply chain. Police have increased surveillance and checkpoints across known transit routes to prevent similar contraband movement.
