More than half of Filipinos surveyed expressed confidence that the Senate will conduct impeachment proceedings fairly, according to findings from Momentum Research's August 2026 national poll.
The survey of 1,487 respondents found that 53.5 percent of Filipinos trust the Senate's fairness when sitting as an impeachment court. This confidence was distributed across two categories, with 40.4 percent of respondents expressing confidence and 13.1 percent reporting very high confidence in the institution's impartiality.
The results suggest a relatively stable baseline of public trust in the Senate's institutional capacity to handle high-profile impeachment cases. The data indicates that a substantial majority believe the chamber can fulfill its constitutional responsibilities despite ongoing political tensions in the country.
The survey provides insight into public perception of Philippine democratic institutions during a period of potential political scrutiny, with the Senate's impeachment court authority remaining a significant focus of national attention.
