MakeMyTrip, Abu Dhabi waive UAE visa fees for Indian tourists

MakeMyTrip has partnered with Abu Dhabi tourism authorities to eliminate visa fees for Indian travellers, removing a key barrier to travel for price-conscious holidaymakers from the subcontinent. Under the arrangement, the platform will absorb the AED 285 entry visa charge for eligible Indian citizens planning stays of at least three nights in the emirate.

The initiative reflects efforts by Abu Dhabi to attract visitors from India, a key source market for Gulf tourism. Indian travellers represent a significant demographic among international visitors to the United Arab Emirates, with many drawn to the emirate's hospitality, retail, and leisure offerings.

The fee waiver programme runs through October 31, allowing travellers several months to take advantage of the offer. Eligible visitors booking through MakeMyTrip will have visa costs covered automatically as part of their travel package, streamlining the process for those planning long-weekend getaways or extended holidays.

The partnership aligns with broader regional strategies to boost post-pandemic tourism recovery and increase visitor volume during the travel season. Such initiatives have become increasingly common as destinations compete to attract travellers from major source markets across South Asia.
