Police arrested makeup artist Jaanmoni Das after a video circulated on social media containing remarks critical of the Prime Minister. The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged by Navya Haridas, State president of the ruling party's women's wing, who alleged that Das had made objectionable statements about the Prime Minister in the video. The clip was shared in connection with recent demonstrations held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Das was released on bail later the same day.
