PUTRAJAYA, Oct 22 — Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has advised Malaysian students currently in Europe to postpone any planned trips to France as civil unrest continues across the country.
The ministry confirmed that all 462 Malaysian students pursuing tertiary education in France remain safe and accounted for. However, authorities have recommended that students studying in other European nations refrain from travelling to France until the situation stabilises.
The advisory comes as riots have erupted across France in recent days, prompting heightened security measures and travel warnings from governments worldwide. Malaysian missions in Europe have been directed to monitor the situation closely and maintain regular contact with Malaysian nationals in the affected regions.
Students already in France have been instructed to remain vigilant, avoid areas of unrest, and stay in close communication with Malaysian diplomatic officials. The ministry has also activated its emergency response protocols to provide support and assistance to any Malaysian students requiring aid.
MOHE urged students to prioritise their safety and follow local authorities' guidance while the civil situation remains unstable.
