KUALA LUMPUR — Monthly payments under Malaysia's Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) initiative are now being credited directly to recipients' accounts registered with their MyKad cards, the Finance Ministry announced on October 1.
The automated payment system represents a streamlined approach to disbursing the basic assistance programme, eliminating the need for manual payment processing and reducing administrative delays. Recipients registered in the SARA system will see funds deposited directly into their linked bank accounts on a monthly basis.
The programme forms part of the government's broader effort to provide targeted financial assistance to qualifying Malaysian households. Eligibility criteria and payment amounts are determined based on household income levels and other socioeconomic factors assessed by the relevant authorities.
Residents who believe they qualify for SARA assistance but have not yet registered can do so through official channels or visit designated government service centres for further information on the application process and documentation requirements.
