Malaysia committed to fighting corruption regardless of political affiliation
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reiterated that the government's anti-corruption stance remains unwavering, stating that all those responsible for misappropriating public funds must face accountability regardless of their political background.

BANGI, Sept 27 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed on Tuesday that the government's commitment to combating corruption transcends individual cases or political considerations.
Anwar said the administration would pursue all instances of financial misconduct with equal vigour, emphasising that nobody involved in plundering the nation's wealth should escape consequences.
"The government's resolve on corruption is consistent and principled," Anwar stated, addressing concerns about selective prosecution. He underscored that the judicial process must be allowed to proceed independently and fairly across all cases under investigation.
The Prime Minister's remarks came amid ongoing scrutiny of high-profile corruption cases affecting figures from various political backgrounds. Anwar stressed that restoring public confidence in institutions required a transparent and impartial approach to accountability.
"This is about upholding the rule of law and protecting the nation's resources for the benefit of all Malaysians," he added, emphasising that political affiliations would not shield anyone from prosecution where evidence warranted legal action.
