The coordinated engagement initiative underscores Malaysia's proactive stance in addressing emerging security challenges facing the country. The chief secretary of government and Bank Negara Malaysia governor will each lead discussions tailored to their respective sectors' roles in national security and stability.
Government departments will participate in sessions led by the chief secretary, while financial institutions will engage separately with the central bank governor. The dual-track approach reflects recognition that security readiness requires coordination across both public administration and the financial system.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the meetings are designed to ensure comprehensive preparation against identified security threats. The initiative aims to facilitate information-sharing and align response strategies across key institutional actors.
The move comes as regional security concerns continue to evolve across Southeast Asia. Malaysia has previously emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation and public-private coordination in countering transnational security risks.
