Malaysia Day marks commitment to inclusive governance, PM says

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has used Malaysia Day commemorations to underscore the importance of maintaining the foundational agreement between the government and its people, saying the compact must be continuously renewed to remain relevant.

Anwar said the annual observance on September 16 offers an opportunity to reflect on the principles that underpin the nation's stability and development. He highlighted that Malaysia was built on the strength of the bond between citizens and their government, a relationship that demands ongoing commitment and attention.

The Prime Minister stressed that effective governance requires ensuring equitable development across all regions of the country. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to prevent any area from being marginalised, emphasising that inclusive growth remains central to national policy.
