Malaysia government meets film body over religious sensitivity concerns

Malaysia's Communications Ministry has met with the Film and Television Association (Finas) to discuss concerns surrounding drama and film productions that address religious matters, with the minister emphasizing the government's firm stance on the issue.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the government maintains a zero-tolerance approach toward content that risks offending religious sentiments, underscoring that such matters remain non-negotiable in the nation's creative industry.

The meeting, which focused on the production titled "Madu atau Racun" (Honey or Poison), reflects ongoing efforts by authorities to ensure that local productions adhere to content guidelines that respect Malaysia's diverse religious landscape.
