A 50 per cent toll discount will be implemented nationwide from November 6 to 7 to coincide with the Deepavali celebrations, providing relief to travellers during the festive period.
The concession will be applied at toll plazas throughout Malaysia's highway network, enabling motorists to enjoy reduced travel costs as they visit family and friends during the Hindu festival.
However, toll facilities located at national border crossings have been excluded from the discount scheme. Travellers using these specific plazas will continue to pay standard toll rates during the promotional period.
The initiative is part of efforts to ease congestion and encourage domestic travel during major festivals. Deepavali, one of the most significant celebrations in Malaysia's Hindu community, typically sees increased vehicular movement as people travel to attend festivities and reunite with loved ones.
