Malaysia's fuel pricing mechanism has triggered an upward adjustment across unsubsidised fuel grades, reflecting market conditions in the region. RON97 and RON95 petrol without subsidies will each increase by 10 sen per litre, while unsubsidised diesel has climbed by a steeper 20 sen per litre.
The price adjustments came into effect following the government's weekly fuel price review. Consumers purchasing unsubsidised fuel grades will face higher costs at petrol pumps across the country during the pricing period.
These movements are part of Malaysia's managed float pricing system for unsubsidised fuel, which adjusts weekly based on international crude oil price fluctuations and the ringgit's exchange rate. Subsidised RON95 petrol and diesel prices remain subject to separate government controls.
The new prices will apply until 4 November, when the next weekly review is scheduled. Motorists and transport operators have been advised to factor in the increased fuel costs for their budgeting and operational planning during this period.
