Malaysian authorities have pushed back against perceptions that one state is being neglected in national development planning, underlining significant investment commitments announced for the coming year. An economic minister stated that the state designated as SG4 in development frameworks has been allocated RM7.7 billion in development expenditure for 2025, signalling continued government support for the region's growth. The allocation forms part of broader infrastructure initiatives aimed at boosting economic activity across the country's states. In tandem with this allocation, special projects valued at RM31 billion have been earmarked specifically for Kelantan, reflecting the government's intention to drive substantial economic development in the state. Officials characterised the spending packages as evidence of balanced regional development priorities, countering suggestions that certain areas have been deprioritised in favour of others. The announcements underscore the government's commitment to inclusive growth across Malaysia's diverse regions as the country navigates its economic agenda for the year ahead.
