Malaysia restores BUDI95 petrol quota to 300 litres monthly

Malaysia's fuel subsidy programme has returned to its standard monthly allocation following the temporary adjustment made earlier this year. The BUDI95 quota, which provides subsidised petrol to qualifying vehicles, has been restored to 300 litres per month for eligible motorists.

The government had reduced the allocation to 200 litres monthly in April as a precautionary step in response to the escalating conflict in West Asia, which had raised concerns about global fuel supply stability and pricing pressures. The measure was intended as a temporary constraint on the subsidised fuel programme during a period of heightened market uncertainty.

With regional tensions stabilising and crude oil markets showing greater equilibrium, authorities determined that the monthly quota could safely return to its original level without straining the government budget. The restoration reflects improved confidence in the global energy supply outlook and Malaysia's capacity to sustain the subsidy programme at normal levels.

The BUDI95 scheme remains a key government initiative to assist Malaysian motorists, particularly those operating commercial vehicles and small businesses that depend on cost-effective fuel supplies for their livelihoods.
