KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia's 2027 Budget includes targeted cash assistance for public sector workers and retirees, reflecting government efforts to support fixed-income earners amid economic pressures.

Civil servants in Grade Utama B and below will each receive RM1,500 under the initiative, benefiting approximately 1.3 million employees across the public service. Contract-based civil servants are also eligible for the assistance, ensuring broader coverage across government payroll categories.

Retired civil servants will receive a smaller allocation of RM750 per person, acknowledging their fixed pension income and reduced financial flexibility. The measure aims to provide relief to both active workers and pensioners who rely on stable government remuneration.

The assistance forms part of broader budgetary provisions announced in the 2027 fiscal plan, which addresses cost-of-living concerns among Malaysia's public sector workforce and retired government employees. Implementation details and disbursement timelines are expected to be clarified in subsequent government announcements.
