Transport Minister Anthony Loke has expressed confidence that the Transport Expo Asia (TXA) will evolve into a major regional platform for the mobility sector, potentially rivalling the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) in scale and significance.
Loke outlined his vision for the biennial event during remarks in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, suggesting that TXA represents a strategic opportunity to showcase Malaysia's capabilities and attract regional and international stakeholders in the transport industry. The minister emphasised the importance of establishing the expo as a credible venue for networking, technology demonstration, and business development within the broader Asia-Pacific transportation landscape.
The aspiration aligns with Malaysia's efforts to strengthen its position as a regional leader in mobility solutions and transportation infrastructure. By developing TXA into a premier exhibition, Malaysia aims to draw industry participants, government officials, and investors from across South and Southeast Asia, facilitating knowledge exchange and commercial partnerships.
The biennial format is designed to provide a regular, predictable platform for industry engagement while allowing sufficient time between events for meaningful developments and innovations to emerge. Officials have indicated that subsequent editions will progressively enhance the expo's scale and international appeal, building on the momentum established by early iterations.
