Malaysia-Tamil Nadu meeting still planned, Anwar confirms

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said efforts are underway to arrange a meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, despite both sides facing tight schedules.

Anwar indicated that the proposed engagement has not been abandoned, noting that attempts are being made to synchronise their calendars given the demanding nature of their respective roles.

The Malaysian Prime Minister's comments suggest ongoing bilateral discussions between the two administrations, though no specific date has yet been finalised for the encounter.

Tamil Nadu, India's southern industrial and cultural hub, maintains significant trade and people-to-people ties with Malaysia, home to a substantial Tamil-speaking community. Regular high-level engagements between Malaysian and Tamil Nadu leadership underscore the depth of the relationship.

Anwar's remarks come as Malaysia continues to strengthen regional diplomatic ties across South Asia, with Tamil Nadu representing an important economic and cultural partner in India.
