The Malaysian government will construct a RM60 million bridge to directly connect the Bukit Chagar Rapid Transit System station with the KTMB Komuter rail network, Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook said. The new link is designed to enhance connectivity between the two rail services and improve the passenger experience in the Johor Bahru area. Currently, commuters transferring between the RTS and Komuter systems must navigate through JB Sentral, adding time and inconvenience to their journeys. The bridge project aims to eliminate this indirect routing by providing a direct pedestrian link between the two stations. The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve integrated public transport infrastructure in the region and facilitate seamless movement for daily commuters and travellers using the rail network. The project's timeline and further implementation details are expected to be announced as planning progresses.
