The Malaysian government is moving to take legal action against Zetrix and MyEG Solutions over RM314 million in unpaid arrears to the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ), Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook said. The minister described the failure to remit the funds on schedule as constituting a material breach of the terms governing their agreement with the department.
The outstanding amount represents revenue generated through services provided by the two companies on behalf of JPJ. According to the minister, the delay in payment has impacted the department's operations and financial planning.
The legal action marks an escalation in efforts to recover the funds and enforce compliance with contractual obligations. The government has indicated its determination to pursue all available remedies to secure the outstanding payment and prevent similar breaches in the future.
Both companies have been involved in providing digitalisation and administrative services for JPJ operations. The dispute underscores ongoing concerns about financial accountability in public-private partnerships within Malaysia's transport sector.
