Malaysia urges citizens to avoid non-essential travel to southern Thailand

The Malaysia Consulate General in Songkhla has advised Malaysian citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to southern Thailand and to adhere strictly to directives issued by Thai authorities.

Consul General Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi said Malaysians currently in the southern provinces should remain vigilant and follow all instructions from local law enforcement and administrative officials.

The advisory comes as part of broader efforts to ensure the safety and security of Malaysian nationals abroad. The consulate emphasized that citizens should stay informed through official channels and maintain regular contact with the mission if assistance is required.

Malaysians planning to travel to the region are encouraged to register with the consulate and monitor travel advisories issued by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The consulate remains available to provide support and guidance to citizens requiring assistance while in southern Thailand.
