Malaysian authorities raid illegal mining site, seize equipment worth over RM1m
Six Myanmar workers have been detained during an enforcement operation at an unlicensed mining location in Pahang. Authorities recovered seven pieces of heavy machinery valued at more than RM1 million.

The Pahang Government Agencies (PGA) conducted a raid on an unauthorised mining site, resulting in the arrest of six foreign nationals from Myanmar and the confiscation of substantial equipment.
Operational teams seized seven units of mining machinery and vehicles estimated to be worth in excess of RM1 million. The raid was part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal mining operations across the state.
The detained workers have been taken into custody pending further investigation and processing. Authorities did not immediately disclose additional details regarding the location of the site or the scale of the illegal mining operation.
The crackdown reflects intensified enforcement action by state authorities against unauthorised extraction activities, which have become a persistent concern in resource-rich regions of Peninsular Malaysia. Similar operations have been documented across multiple mining areas in recent months.
