Malaysian police arrest eight over string of car break-ins at Desaru

Royal Malaysian Police have detained eight individuals following investigations into a series of vehicle break-ins at Desaru, a coastal town in Johor. The suspects, ranging in age from 26 to 60 years old, are believed to be responsible for at least 17 incidents involving unauthorised entry into motor vehicles.

Among the vehicles targeted in the break-ins were four cars belonging to Singapore residents, according to police statements. The incidents highlight ongoing concerns about vehicle security at tourist destinations in the region, particularly during peak visiting periods when the area attracts significant numbers of visitors from neighbouring countries.
