Mamata accuses BJP of blocking TMC rally route, restricting party leaders

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party workers were restricting the movement of her party's leaders ahead of a scheduled rally in West Bengal. The allegations emerged after an incident involving senior TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh, whose car was reportedly surrounded by a group of people carrying black flags while he was traveling through the Uttarpara area of Hooghly district toward Serampore for a party meeting.

Party sources claimed that the obstruction of Ghosh's vehicle amounted to preventing legitimate political activity and assembly. The incident has escalated tensions between the two parties in the state, with the TMC characterizing the BJP's actions as an attempt to intimidate opposition leaders and suppress democratic participation.

The Trinamool Congress has been vocal about similar allegations in recent weeks, claiming a pattern of harassment targeting its cadre and leaders. The party has called for authorities to take action against what it describes as intimidation tactics employed by rival party workers.
