Mamata accuses BJP of turning police into 'monstrous entity'

Mamata Banerjee, supremo of the Trinamool Congress, launched a scathing attack on the state police force on Wednesday, alleging that the BJP government has transformed the institution into a 'monstrous entity' compared to its performance under her party's rule.

She indicated her willingness to conduct public meetings and walk through streets directly if authorities attempt to restrict her rallies, signalling her determination to maintain engagement with citizens despite potential administrative obstacles.

The remarks reflect mounting tensions between the state government and the TMC leadership over governance and police conduct.
