Mamata vows to continue political fight against BJP's 'obscurity'

Mamata Banerjee, chief of the Trinamool Congress, on Monday declared she would not abandon her political struggle and would persist in efforts to push the BJP toward irrelevance. During a Facebook Live session, the West Bengal opposition leader asserted that residents of the state had discerned the BJP's true character within four months of the government's transition in power.

Banerjee alleged that the ongoing Census process represented a covert mechanism to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) across the state. She contended the exercise was conducted without adequate consultation with political parties and cautioned residents to exercise care when completing Census forms. The Trinamool leader warned that submission of personal information could potentially jeopardize personal financial assets.

Address mounting concerns regarding West Bengal's welfare schemes, Banerjee responded to women's protests across the state over alleged delays in disbursing funds under the Annapurna Bhandar financial assistance initiative. She accused the state's BJP administration of reducing the number of eligible beneficiaries under the pretext of ineligibility, characterizing the action as contrary to the original objectives of the Lakshmir Bhandar women's financial support program launched by her administration.
