Rajkumar Rajbhar, who was standing trial in connection with a 2016 murder case, submitted a death certificate and accompanying documentation to the court claiming he had died and been cremated. The submission included photographs purporting to show a funeral pyre and cremation proceedings.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered that the documents were fraudulent and the photographs had been digitally manipulated. The images, which were meant to establish his death, contained inconsistencies that raised immediate red flags with investigators examining the evidence.

The scheme reportedly involved the use of a goat in the fabricated funeral imagery, suggesting an attempt to create a convincing visual record of a cremation that never took place. The use of animal remains in the photographs was intended to lend authenticity to the deception.

The attempted deception has resulted in additional legal complications for Rajbhar. Authorities have launched a separate investigation into the submission of false death documentation, which constitutes a distinct offense beyond the original murder charges he faces in connection with the 2016 incident.

The case highlights efforts by some accused individuals to evade justice through fraudulent means. Rajbhar's trial proceedings are expected to resume as the court addresses both the original charges and the newly discovered attempt to obstruct justice.
