The incident occurred when ICA officers were conducting a routine inspection of the man's vehicle at the checkpoint. During the inspection, the man made remarks to officers suggesting that they would find a bomb in his vehicle, according to reports.
The comments prompted immediate concerns among the officers conducting the routine check. Rather than treating the matter lightly, authorities took the threat seriously given security protocols in place at the country's land borders.
Following the exchange, the man was referred to the Singapore Police Force for further investigation. The police have taken over the case to determine the nature and intent behind the remarks made at the checkpoint.
