Man arrested for attacking police officer with helmet during Thiruvananthapuram Onam fest

Museum Police in Thiruvananthapuram have arrested a youth following an assault on a civil police officer during the state's Onam festivities. The incident occurred as celebrations of Kerala's harvest festival were underway in the state capital.

The accused, identified as Akhil Krishnadev, allegedly attacked the police officer using a helmet as a weapon. The assault took place amid the festive gatherings that characterise Onam, one of Kerala's most significant cultural celebrations observed across the state.

Following the incident, Museum Police registered a case and apprehended the accused. The officer sustained injuries in the attack, prompting law enforcement authorities to take swift action. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the altercation during the celebrations.
