Man arrested for creating morphed images of female students in Kerala

Subin Babu, 26, a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested in connection with the circulation of morphed images of female students in the Malappuram district. During questioning, the accused admitted to systematically collecting photographs of young women from Instagram before digitally manipulating them.

According to police records, Babu had targeted female students and used image-editing techniques to create fake photographs, which he subsequently distributed through various digital channels. The investigation revealed that the accused employed social media platforms as a primary source for sourcing the original images without consent.

The case highlights growing concerns over image-based harassment and digital abuse in the state. Authorities have indicated that further investigations are underway to identify additional victims and determine the full extent of the accused's activities.

The arrest comes amid increased law enforcement focus on cybercrime offences targeting women and minors across South India. Police have urged citizens to maintain stringent privacy settings on social media accounts and report suspicious online activities to the nearest cyber crime cell.
