Man arrested for selling magnetic belts to teachers under false government claims
A man in Telangana's Khammam district allegedly defrauded government school teachers by posing as a representative of the central government's Aarogya Setu programme and selling them magnetic belts at inflated prices.

An individual in Khammam has come under investigation for running a fraudulent scheme targeting educators at government schools in the region. The accused claimed to represent the central government's Aarogya Setu initiative while approaching teachers with what he described as health products.
The man reportedly sold magnetic belts to the teachers at prices ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 350 per unit. Authorities allege he leveraged the credibility associated with government health programmes to convince educators to make purchases, suggesting the products were officially sanctioned by the government.
The scheme came to light when teachers verified the claims with official channels and discovered no connection between the seller and any government health initiative. The fraudulent sales targeting the teaching community have raised concerns about misleading marketing practices exploiting government programme names for financial gain.
Investigations are underway as authorities examine the scale of the deception and the total number of teachers who may have been affected by the scheme.
