Law enforcement officials in Uttar Pradesh confirmed the arrest on August 28 after Ram Ghulam, the father of the deceased, submitted a written complaint alleging that his daughter had been murdered following a pattern of dowry-related harassment.
According to police records, the victim had endured systematic pressure from her husband regarding dowry payments, a practice that remains prevalent in parts of northern India despite legal prohibitions. The harassment allegedly escalated to fatal consequences, prompting the family to approach authorities.
