The suspect was apprehended during an enforcement operation conducted by the General Operations Force (GOF) in the Pasir Mas area near the Thai border. Authorities seized the cattle, which are believed to have been smuggled illegally into Malaysia from Thailand.
The detained individual is currently assisting police with investigations into the alleged smuggling operation. Preliminary findings suggest the livestock may have crossed the international border without proper documentation or customs clearance.
The seizure underscores ongoing efforts by Malaysian authorities to combat illegal animal trafficking along the northern border. Livestock smuggling remains a persistent issue in border regions, with smugglers often attempting to bypass customs checkpoints to avoid duties and regulatory compliance.
The case is being investigated further, and additional charges may be filed depending on the outcome of the inquiry. The GOF has intensified border patrols in recent months to curb such illegal activities in the region.
